An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission; and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life.
This life continues to grow through the support of people who wish to show their appreciation and thanks to our veterans.

Operation Beachhead

An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission;
and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life.

Veterans Day Sled Hockey Event

Operation Beachhead stormed the frozen surf and took control for the second sled-hockey event of the season. The event took place at the John J Piccolo Arena in Old Bridge NJ on November 8, 2017.

For this Veterans Day week we welcomed the members from the James J. Peters Veterans Administration Medical Center in the Bronx NY and members from the Veterans Campus in East Orange along with our regular team members. We were honored to have all the veterans join us in recognition of the upcoming celebration of Veterans.

On hand to volunteer were student hockey players from several schools and hockey teams: Thompson Middle School in Middletown, Middletown South High School, Old Bridge High School, and the Jersey Shore Wild Cats and Red Bank Generals Hockey Teams.  Operation Beachhead volunteers, volunteers from the FDNY (New York City Fire Department) intramural hockey team members, as always, were there to help.

Everyone was treated to breakfast when they arrived and after some strenuous time on the ice, the group warmed up to soup, macaroni and cheese and hot sandwiches prepared by the Knights Kafe.

Telemundo Television reporter and film crew were busy interviewing and filming today's event.

We look forward to our next event on December 6.
