An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission; and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life. This life continues to grow through the support of people who wish to show their appreciation and thanks to our veterans.

PBS Show, NJTV Spends a Day on the Beach with Operation Beachhead ~ June 25, 2015
Operation Beachhead volunteers gathered on beach in Sea Girt
with a group of disabled vets predominately from the Viet Nam era. The vets
choose either surfboards or kayaks to “storm the surf”. As it usually happens the temperature was just
right and waves were perfect for a “beachday”.
Also joining the group on the beach was a reporter and film
crew from the PBS show, NJTV. The reporter interviewed each vet and a few of
the volunteers. She was able to record some video of the activity on the beach.
The video was produced for viewing that same night on the NJTV show.
Each volunteer job is important to every event, therefore we thank the volunteers who came early to help set up and the volunteers who stayed after the event to clear the beach, wash off, and pack the equipment away for the next Beachhead Day.
As always we thank the community of
Sea Girt, NJ for their cooperation in allowing us to use the beautiful beach
facilities. We thank the beach staff and lifeguards for their help throughout
the day and for their assistance to moving the equipment.
