An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission; and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life. This life continues to grow through the support of people who wish to show their appreciation and thanks to our veterans.

First Lady Mary Pat Christie Honors Operation Beachhead Founder Michael Ricci As 21st New Jersey Hero
Operation Beachhead stormed the surf once again this past Tuesday, July 2nd 2013 to attend the New JerseyHero Award being given to Michael Ricci, Founder of Operation Beachhead. The award was presented by New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christie. Mrs. Christies’ NJ Hero Foundation recognizes everyday New Jerseyans doing remarkable things in their communities.
The day was filled with activities including kayaking, surfing, boogie boarding, and art therapy. The Sea Girt National Guard Army Base was the location for this exciting day. Volunteers, participants, friends, and family attended on what started out to be a rainy cold morning. By the time the First Lady presented the award, the sun was shining bright. No surprise to the people who know Michael.
An after-party was held on the base in the pavilion area. There was plenty of food and drinks for all who attended.
Operation Beachhead wants to give special thanks to the National Guard in helping to transport equipment and attendees with use of their ATV’s, without which the long walk through the dunes, would have been exhausting.
We are invited back to on July 27, 2013 for the Active Duty Troops Event. Visit our calendar for upcoming events.
