An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission; and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life.
This life continues to grow through the support of people who wish to show their appreciation and thanks to our veterans.

Operation Beachhead

An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission;
and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life.

January 2017 Sled-Hockey Event

Operation Beachhead celebrated the New Year with a sled hockey event at the john J Piccolo Ice Arena in Old Bridge, NJ. We welcomed members from the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. We were also visited by our friend Bill Gleason's wife and granddaughter. Bill passed away in 2016. Bill loved joining us for a day of sled-hockey. In honor of Bill's love of sled hockey and Bill, his family held a fund-raiser this passed summer to raise money for sleds and equipment.

Our regular team of participants and volunteers from Operation Beachhead came out and were supported by the members of the FDNY intramural hockey team and local coaches of the arena.

Also joining us was, Meg Baker,  from CBS News. She visited during one of Operation Beachhead's summer event and promised she would be back in the winter. She interviewed several of our participants and even got to experience the feeling of sled-hockey, first hand.
