An idea became a vision; a vision became a mission; and a mission brought Operation Beachhead to life. This life continues to grow through the support of people who wish to show their appreciation and thanks to our veterans.

Skating Day for Children's Specialized Hospital
Operation Beachhead brought adaptive ice-skating to several patients of the Children's Specialized Hospital in Toms River,NJ on April 19, 2016. The first successful event was an opportunity to bring a new activity to these special children. There were smiles everywhere as the children got to experience something new.
From a letter by Ashley Connelly, CTRS, ATRIC Recreation Therapist at Children's Specialized Hospital in Toms River, NJ
"On behalf of the Therapy team at the Children’s Specialized Hospital, I would like to give a huge thank-you to Mike Ricci and all of the volunteers at Operation Beachhead. On April 19th they met us at Winding River Ice Arena for our first adaptive ice-skating out trip with three children who live at the Long Term Care Center at the hospital. Operation Beachhead provided all of the adaptive equipment and helmets for the ice-skating event. Mike and his volunteers ensured that our children and staff were comfortable, safe, and having a great time throughout our entire time at Winding River. They were all very respectful and kind, which made the staff at ease for our first time on the ice with the children. All three of the children were laughing and smiling while being pushed around by the volunteers. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to team up with Operation Beachhead to give more kids from the Children’s Specialized Hospital an opportunity to have this incredible experience! Sincerely, Ashley Connelly, CTRS
